Property video editing: templates versus traditional editing
When a property video template is the right tool, and when a traditional editor is still the one you want.

They are different jobs
A traditional editor is built to make any film you can imagine, starting from nothing. That power is exactly why a Tuesday listing does not get a video: the tool asks for decisions a branch does not have time to make.
A property template starts from a known shape. Exterior, rooms, facts, brand, floor plan, music. You fill it. You do not design it. The result will not be a festival film. It will be a listing video that exists.
Use a template when the brief repeats
If this week looks like last week — another house, another price, the same logo — a template is the professional choice. Repeating work is what templates are for. Redrawing lower-thirds is not a craft, it is overhead.
Formats belong in that repeatable set. Portrait, square and landscape should fall out of the project. Rebuilding them by hand is the tax traditional editing charges on property marketing.
Use a traditional editor when the film is bespoke
A development brand film, a heavily graded walk-through, an interview, a scripted social series: these are editorial jobs. They deserve an editor and a timeline. PropertyCuts is not trying to be that tool, and it should not be forced into it.
Many businesses need both. The brand film once a year. The listing cuts every week. Mixing those jobs in one piece of software is how the weekly work stops happening.
Hand the repetitive cut to the people closest to the property
Editors are scarce. Negotiators, photographers and marketing coordinators are not. A template lets them finish a standard video without waiting in a queue behind the jobs that actually need an editor.
Keep a rule of thumb. If the structure is “our usual listing film”, use PropertyCuts. If someone says “this one is different” and means the story, book the edit.
Make one from the photos you have.
Upload the media, choose a template, and render the cuts you need.

Questions
Will a template look generic?
It will look like a property video in your branding. That is a feature. A bespoke film is a different purchase.
Can we still use an editor for some properties?
Yes. Use the template for the repeating listing work and an editor when the film itself is the point.
